Street Reach
Reaching the houseless community
FCUMC Street Reach exists to serve and support the houseless in Metro Louisville, as well as work alongside and network with our sister outreach groups. Almost every day of the week there are Street Reach team members in the streets of Louisville, supplying much needed items such as water, clothing, food and tents to our houseless community. Open Table
Open Table is a community ministry providing a free meal to anyone in the community every Tuesday night. This is a joint effort with Beulah Presbyterian and Southeast Christian Church and usually takes place in the Beulah activities building. Fern Creek UMC and Beulah Presbyterian are responsible for the meals on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, Southeast Christian Church takes the second and fourth Tuesdays. The fifth Tuesday (when one occurs) is provided by all three churches. We serve from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. nightly. Our congregation is asked to provide side dishes for each meal. Volunteers meet at 4:30 p.m. to set up for the meal, help serve, and clean up, but more importantly sit and fellowship with those who come to dine.
Fern Creek / Highview United Ministries
FCUMC is one of 15 member churches involved with the ministry of the Fern Creek/Highview United Ministries! As noted on their website, this is accomplished by: Participating in volunteer opportunities, Providing financial donations to FCHUM, Opening up new venues of service through our congregation, Providing help and occasional use of our facility for special activities and projects, etc.
Fern Creek UMC Global Latin Healthcare Team
Thanks to a United Methodist Kentucky Conference Good Samaritan Grant, a multicultural team has been organized to help support members of the Latin community in navigating the healthcare system through identification of healthcare needs and available resources.
